Competitions
There are ice skating competitions that are open to other skaters from different clubs. An example of this is Oktoberfest held at Cottonwood Heights.
Recreation only
This is skating for fun and no or minimal interest in competing.
Synchronized
This is team figure skating where there is a group of skaters on the ice. Ice Angelzz is the synchronized skating team at Cottonwood Heights.
Ice Dance
This is skating dance on ice. It can be done solo or with a partner. Skaters perform different dances, such as the waltz, tango, rumba, etc.
Shows
This is participating in theatrical events which have solo and group performances pertaining to an overall theme. This would include events such as the annual spring show.
Testing
This is the testing process as defined by USFSA where skaters can test up to the Gold Medal status in Moves, Freestyle, Dance and other categories.
Club Night
This is held every Monday evening at 4:15-5:45 and is a benefit of joining club.
In-house competitions
This is a competition that is open only to the skaters of CHFSC and the LTS program. This is a basic skills competition up to the preliminary level. Spring Fling is our in-house competition held in May of each year.
On-ice club activities
This is when there is an organized club event on ice. Such events are Disney on Ice or organized fun with the skaters on club night.
Off-ice club activities
This would include organized activities that are held off ice and perhaps even outside of the rink. Some activities include getting together to watch a skating event or spring show at another rink, etc.
Solos after LTS
This is when skaters are able to perform their routine for Learn to Skate after the last class is completed.
Off-ice training
These are organized activities focused on strength, stamina and flexibility of our skaters. These sessions are held off ice.
Pairs
This is skating with a partner.
